About Dirk

Dirk is a just over a year and a half old 60lb neutered male with loads of big puppy energy. He’s house trained, crate trained, walks great on a leash, takes treats gently, and loves to go out for drives. He knows his basic commands including sit, down, stay, out, leave-it, and bring. Dirk is very sensitive to pleasing his handler and is good about “checking in” with his handler even when given playtime in the yard. He is still learning his strength; so small kids, cats, and small dogs are probably not great playmates for him right now. Dirk definitely needs an active home who will keep him mentally stimulated and give him lots of exercise. If you appreciate a true GSD and are looking for a young dog who will grow with you, this is your dog.

Dirk is quite exuberant in his play, so any other dogs in the home would need to be engaged wtih him or at least tolerant.  An older, settled dog may find his childish antics rather annoying ! 

Note: The opacity in his right eye is a cosmetic birth defect, but does not affect his vision in any way. He’s seen great canine ophthalmologists and checks out perfectly.
